On January 18 2017 the Province of Nova Scotia announced the dates and locations for public consultation meetings on the highway twinning report, which was compiled by CBCL Engineering Ltd. There is a meeting scheduled for Wednesday February 1 2017

The twinning of Highway 101 is a project that has been in the works at Nova Scotia Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal (NSTIR) for two decades.
